What is Creative Weblogging?
Creative weblogging is actually a network of blogs on a number of different topics including business, technology, ecommerce, beauty and style, family, home and living, sports, health, gaming and traveling. There's pretty much something for everyone. You can visit the Creative weblogging homepage to see all of the topics available and latest entries. I visited several of the blogs and they all appear to have high page rank and recent posts. Blogs are also available in several different languages.
Here's an excerpt from the website:
Get paid to blog with us at Creative Weblogging! We are one of the largest blog networks, with over 135 blogs in five languages. We will help grow your online reputation, establish you as a thought leader - and pay you, too.
How Much Does Creative Weblogging Pay?
According to the website, compensation is from $84 to $140 (USD) per month, and I assume this depends on the number of posts you make. They require 3 to 5 posts per week. If you do the math, this equates to $7 to a little over $11 per post for the minimum 3 posts per week. The site also claims to pay traffic bonuses for "aggressively growing traffic." Payment is made once per month via PayPal or Moneybookers.
What are the Requirements to Become a Blogger?
The requirements for being accepted as a blogger are clear-cut and simple. You must be passionate about a topic, be able to make the minimum number of posts per week and have some blogging experience. A personal blog is all you need for experience, so don't be frightened away if you've never blogged professionally. Here's what the website has to say about requirements:
- Do you love to blog? Do you like to visit and comment on other blogs? Do you want to learn and get even better at blogging? Then Creative Weblogging is for you.
- We look for your passion for a particular subject. Show us how much you LOVE a topic!
- Show us you have previous experience blogging on the topic.
- Must be able to blog regularly - but you can set your own hours.
- We prefer some blogging experience. If you do not currently have a blog, we recommend you set up a free blog account at Blogger.com. After you have been blogging for 30 - 60 days, please contact us at that time.
Blog posts have a required minimum word count of 70 words, which isn't much. Visiting the blogs in the network, I saw many short posts. It seems that this would be a good way for international writers (or U.S. writers) to make a little extra money for very little effort.
How Do I Apply?
It appears that the "write for us" portion of the website hasn't been updated since 2008, and the application process is a little confusing. There is a list of three blogs that are in need of "editors," but I'm not sure if this is the same thing as a writer/blogger. There is an email address on the write for us page you can use to contact Creative weblogging about an application.
If I were applying, I would send an email including how long I've been blogging and any relevant experience, the topic and/or blog I'm interested in writing for and perhaps even a short sample post. That should get someone's attention. :)
Do you have experience as a blogger for Creative Weblogging? I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for pointing this out Willow.. Will apply and keep you posted. Blessings.
Excellent! Good to see this network mentioned. I'm a writer over there, as Willow knows, and I just thought I should mention the fact that due to lack of sponsorships and stuff at the minute, the pay is even less than they claim on their home page (I'm not quite sure why this is yet to be updated), it's closer to half of what they claim.
The editors are good, they leave you to it and are happy to take you on if you can prove you have a basic grasp of language and a passion for you topic! With the small amount of work you have to do as well, you can take on more than one blog and increase your earnings...
Keep up the great work, Willow!
@prerna - Great! Definitely let me know how it goes. :)
@stephen - Thanks so much for the input! I'm sorry to hear the pay is lower than advertised, but maybe it would still be worth it to some international writers, as paid writing jobs are hard to come by when you're outside of the US.
I also didn't realize that you could do more than one blog, so thanks again for letting us know. Your feedback is invaluable since I have no personal experience with the site. :)
Wow! Thanks! I'm going to try this right now, it sounds good.
Creative Weblogging is no longer online. Just wanted to let everyone know.
