Well folks, it's that time again! I've made a huge leap in my residual income earnings this month. In May, I made around $208 total in residuals, but I made much more this time around. Here's the break down of what I did in June:
Ehow just updated and I'm proud to announce that I've made a total of $177.36! My goal was only $150, and I only wrote about 15 new articles in June, so I am VERY happy to surpass that goal by so much. My earnings increased by about $40 since the last monthly update.
I'm not making as much as I would have liked by now, but that's my own fault. I haven't been writing as much as I had hoped due to other projects, but I'm still extremely happy and impressed with my earnings so far. My goal for next month is $200 - and I'll be writing up a storm to hopefully surpass that meager goal as well. I hope to add at least 20 new articles in July.
Suite 101 Earnings Update
I am ashamed of myself on this one. I didn't write a single article for Suite in June. Why? Because I was burned out on my topic. I know that we can write on any topic we like, but I like to stick to one subject so that I may have a chance at becoming a featured writer one day. However, I am sick to death of writing on natural medicine. It's a passion in my real life, but I don't think I can write another word about it for the time being.
I have decided to go a different route with Suite, and I've chosen a new topic that I think I can write about.....well, forever. It's a topic on which I'm very knowledgable and I think I can do well there, because I don't see many other in-depth articles on the subject. So, next month I'm going to dive back in.
However, my earnings are as high as they've ever been even with my failure to submit anything new. I'm averaging about $2.00 per article per month, and I think that's fantastic. I'm very happy there and I can't wait to start writing again.
Examiner Earnings Update
This is the first month I'll be reporting my Examiner earnings. I am happy to report that they have far exceeded my expectations. I posted a total of 12 articles in June and my earnings totaled $31.38 for the month. This is much more than I made in my first month of eHow or Suite! I'm very excited about the possibilities and I love writing for Examiner. I love my topic and I thoroughly enjoy the site (except for the screwy pub tool).
If you're thinking of joining Examiner.com and you haven't yet, please consider using my referral code - 12327. It doesn't cost you anything, but it will help me out considerably. :)
Adsense Earnings Update
I finally made payout with Adsense. It's been several months, and I've seen a steady increase in earnings this month. I've had not a single day that was less than $1.25, so I'm pretty happy with that. I made close to $15o, although not all from this month! I only made around $60 this month, but it was enough to propel me to the minimum payout.
Other Residual Income
For those of you who are wondering, FireHow continues to send me regular updates on my measly one article. It made a total of $0.30 this month! I think I would seriously consider contributing more there, if there was a way to check earnings updates regularly. Until then, I'm going to hold off on submitting more articles.
Bukisa has continued to earn it's usual. I made $14.68 there this month with 29 articles, and I haven't contributed anything since March. Bukisa is a low earner compared to the other sites listed here. However, I won't complain about the extra cash every month. Eventually, I might be paid what the articles are worth. You live and learn, I suppose.
Grand Total for the Month
Here is how June is looking for me in terms of residual income. I really put very little effort into it, so I'm very happy to see some of my previous work is finally paying off.
eHow - $177.36
Suite - $35.00 (I can't reveal the exact amount, so this is an estimate.)
Examiner - $31.38
Adsense - $150.00 (Again, not an exact amount, as it's against the TOS.)
Bukisa - $14.68
--------------------------
Total: $408.42 (Give or take a few cents due to the rounding.)
I'm counting the entire Adsense payout, since I'll be receiving it from June's payout. Taking this into account, if I only counted what I made IN JUNE, I'd be at $318.82. This is still significantly more than I made last month in residuals, and I hope to see it continue to climb over the next few months.
How was your month? Do you have any residual income successes or failures you'd like to share?

Wow, what great residual income! I think $177 for one month with 140 articles is doing extremely well, considering I have 78 articles at Associated Content and earn less than $6.00 a month. I appreciate you sharing your earnings so I am able to decide which baskets to put all my eggs in.
I have been with eHow for only 1 month and have 7 articles there but have not broken the $10.00 mark. Yet, I am very happy at the earnings so far as it is much higher than I have ever received from AC. At Suite101, my earnings are also fairly good for only one and a half months with 8 articles. I will also be placing more articles there too. My Constant-Content articles did very well this month and I wrote 5 articles for Demand Studios bringing in $75.00.
Good luck with your writing this month. I'm sure you will meet your goals.

It was a fair month for me:
Suite 101 - approx. $90
Associated Content - $120
Helium - approx $25
Ehow - $75
Examiner - $30
Brighthub residual - $130 approx
Textbroker - $30
------
$500
I'm adding Textbroker in even though its only for a weeks worth of work, plus I may have picked up two new clients.
This is a low month for me, as I'm usually around $1,000 a month. Before the end of the year I'm going to be pressing for $1500 a month.
I'm the snail chugging along. I did double from my 1st month to this month. From 13 to 24. I'm pretty much on ehow alone but am working on some niche blogs. So we'll see.
It's a ton of work! Definitely not the easy way to make money!

Truly inspiring! you work it, girls! I just got started and chose hubpages. I like it over there, and made a whooping 1.68 with my adsense over the past 4 days.
I've been reading your blog for a couple of days now and must say that I think I'm hooked. Keep up the good work and congrats on your monthly income.
Stick with it, you're on the right track!
Hi Willow,
Wow! This is great! I really look forward to your income updates along with other posts.. Keeps me inspired and motivated to keep writing and creating passive income streams. Since this was my first month at Suite101, Triond and Bukisa, I've just made a grand total of $ 12 but am hoping it would get better..
Congrats once again..

@Write Moms - It sounds like you're off to a great start. I left AC long ago because they just pay too little. I've thought of submitting a few things to Constant Content, but I'm just not sure I have the time to write something that won't sell. It would be helpful to know what types of articles are frequently sold there. Good luck on your residual income future!
@Tina - You had a pretty good month with Bright Hub! I only published four articles there before all their changes went into effect and I have yet to earn any residuals. Lol. Good for you!
@WriterM - You're absolutely right! It's not easy by any means - but it certainly is fulfilling when the money starts coming in! :)
@Popintervention - Hubpages is a great site. I'm going to be doing a review soon!
@Felicia - Thanks! I'm glad you like the blog and I appreciate your comment! :)
@perna - It will get better over time if you keep at it! Keep me posted on your Triond earnings. I have no experience with them and would love to know how you do! :)
Hi Willow, great post! Thanks for sharing your earnings. Are you also putting content on Hubpages? I haven't used most of the sites you are using, but I find that I do really well with Hubpages. Over two years I've posted a little over 150 Hubs and I usually earn about $350 a month just from Adsense and then another $100 or so from Ebay and Amazon.
I think I'm going to have to check out Examiner.
I stumbled across this web site and SO glad I did! What a wealth of information and especially for those of us that like to write and trying to make a living at it...ugh, that can be hard at times.
Okay, so this may sound like a really stupid question; but how in the world do you make money with Adsense? I've heard of it of course, but just have not really done any research on it. Looks as though I should!
Thanks and keep up the good work, great site and have really enjoyed it. Gonna give some of those web sites a try, wish me luck!
Deb :)
I've just started, so I've yet to make payout at any of the sites I write for. Currently I am focusing on eHow and Examiner.com.
With 22 articles, I made about $6.50 in approx. 1 month from being there.
With Examiner.com the earnings are slow. I've made $4.50 from my articles there, most of that due to the clicks on my July 4th articles.
Thanks for the motivation to keep on going. I know if I stick with it it will pay off in then end. Its inspiring to see how much others are making! Looking forward to reading more on this blog!
I agree with so many others - thanks for all of the great info and motivating posts!
I just started at ehow and things are pretty slow moving. I hadn't heard about some of these other sites, but I will be sure to check them out!
Thanks again.
@Emma - I have a few hubs up, and I see clicks nearly every day. However, I don't make enough from it to add to my residual tally (It's just part of my general Adsense count). If I had more time, I would definitely create more hubs, but it's on the back burner for the time being. Congrats on your success there!
@Deb - Well, Adsense is a contextual ad service, meaning you can place it on your website or blog and it displays ads relevant to your content. When a visitor clicks on one of the ads, you make money. It's not easy to make money via Adsense on a blog, but it's definitely something you can do with time and patience. Some sites such as Hubpages, Infobarrel, and Xomba, allow you to publish articles on their site and they will share the Adsense revenue with you. If you do a few Google searches, you'll be able to find all the info you could ever need on the topic. Good luck!
@Rachel - I would advise doing the same type of keyword research for Examiner as you do for eHow. This will help bring in more traffic (and more money). Good luck to you there. It's always slow in the beginning, but the residuals will add up over time. :)
@The Real Mommy - I know how it feels in the slow beginnings. I'm still basically there, but I've put in quite a bit of work. It does take time, but to me, it's worth every second when my residual earnings can pay my car payment. :)
wow.. that was good Willow. I was reading some criticism of ehow and I have it in the back of my mind now.. that how you earn less than $3-$4 per article and have to keep posting articles to keep up the earnings. I didn't really know what to respond!
I made payout with ehow, posting 18 articles and earning about $1.50 with each so I'm happy but I know those articles need to earn more! I hope I can increase those earnings. =)
Thanks for your tips and information!
Reading posts like this is inspiring for me! It's great that you are making that kind of money on Ehow with only 140 articles. Keep it up!
Great post! I found you blog by trying to figure out if links on ehow are no follow or not. Your earnings look great. I already write for ehow, suite, bukisa and have several adsense sites...however, I will now probably sign up for Examiner under your link.
Thanks!
I like your blog - it is inspiring. I have been writing for ehow for 6 months and am finally at 100 articles. I make about $80 or so a month.
Aug earnings
Ehow - $70
Examiner - $4
Client - $60
Total $134
I just started my own www.triptipz.com blog and have several blogger blogs I am working too.
Yes. eHow is great. I just started with Flixyia. This is a good option for international members because they pay entirely in Adsense. That might make you cringe at first, but with Willow's post about promoting with Social Marker and Squidoo, I think it will help with the traffic.
You get 100% of the Adsense earnings. It's one of those blog content, videos sites.
The text editor is very simple WYSIWYG. The only thing I don't like is the color of the links is almost the same color as the text, and I haven't figured out how to change the link color to have it stand out.
Their sister site, Snapixel, is place where you can sell your photos.
That's really inspiring. I want to break into freelance writing but I'm just... scared?
I guess I'm afraid to invest the time in it and only be disappointed with the outcome since I don't have experience.
Maybe this will help inspire me!
