Scribnia is a rather new website with a very unique concept. They are a social community centered around rating and reviewing your favorite (or least favorite) bloggers and authors. However, the ultimate goal of the site is to help it's users find new bloggers based upon their interests, preferences, and ratings.When you sign up with Scribnia, you can begin reviewing and rating right away. You can follow other users who share your interests, and the site even suggests new users for you to follow based upon your previous choices. However, the driving force behind the site is the user reviews. You can even add your favorite blog to the site if it's not already listed. In fact, this is how I was first alerted to the site. One of my faithful readers reviewed me!
Once an author has been reviewed, Scribnia ranks that author within their subcategory. According to the website, a proprietary algorithm is used to determine ranking, which takes into account such factors as ratings and the number of reviews an author has. You can even add your own blog and ask your readers to review you!
How Does This Help You Find New Bloggers?
Well, after you've given a few ratings and reviews, the site's recommendation engine uses this information to find new blogs that you might be interested in reading. According to the website:
"The recommendations are based on an algorithm that matches your ratings against ratings of other users. In order for us to generate ratings you must rate at least a few authors."
Also, I've managed to find several new interesting blogs by browsing the reviews of other users. If you're a blog reader, or just someone looking for something new, Scribnia definitely has what you need. The site features hundreds of bloggers and authors from the up-and-coming variety to the more well-known and popular.

Thanks for the awesome review Willow. Glad you're finding the site to be valuable so far. The 'books' thing is because when the user added you to the site, they must have put you under the books category. Sorry about that.
