BiblioBuffet is offering some interesting freelance writer jobs for anyone who loves to read and write about it. They pay upfront for book reviews, personal essays, editorials, commentary, humor, interviews, profiles of literary people, places and things, excerpts from upcoming books and short stories. They expect regular contributors to write on a bi-weekly basis and pay $10 per piece. However, they do say that they will increase the pay for a regular contributor. You'll be paid each month by check. They do accept international contributors if you can have a good grasp on the English language.
They currently have seven regular columns plus a guest column where they like new contributors to begin. You can check out the website for recent posts to give you an idea of the type of articles they are looking for. The minimum is 600 words but can be as much as 6,000 words.
From the website:
"BiblioBuffet is looking for passionate readers who are also excellent writers. You do not need to have clips (though we like those), but proper English skills are a given. The ability to meet deadlines is crucial, as is integrity and openness. Most importantly, can you give us writing worth reading? If so, we’d love to hear from you."
If you are an avid reader, you could definitely make some extra cash at BiblioBuffet and possibly get some exposure for yourself. The site is very professional, well laid out and easy to navigate. Check it out!

Tina
Hi, Tina. It appears that this one might be defunct. I have no other way of contacting them besides what's posted and I've had a few other people say that they were unable to apply, as well. Sorry! It looks like this opportunity is no more...
sad, it looked like a good one. Thanks for checking and thanks for this website it's very helpful. Appreciate all you do!
I googled our web site today and came across this lovely post about BiblioBuffet. But I was alarmed to see that several of the comments mentioned the contact form did not work.
You are right, I don't know what happened, but I just corrected it now. I am so sorry that this happened. I try to keep up, but this somehow slipped by me. Mail sent using this form will be seen by Nicki Leone, Managing Editor, but anyone can reach us by using the following formula:

Hi,
I'm sorry for the second post, but I wanted to let you know that occasional submissions (to our BibliOpinions section) are paid $10. Regular contributors start at $20. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
