Get Paid to Write - Upfront Pay at Personal Money Store

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Personal Money Store is looking for "well written newsworthy articles or insightful commentary on current events and news. Articles must be politically and religiously neutral. We are looking for technical writing, common sense writing and humorous articles."

Pay is $0.05 cents per word up to a maximum of $25 per article. These articles go into the official Google news. For articles that attract alot of attention, they claim to pay more to encourage the writer to produce more content. You can submit anonymously and the only requirement is a PayPal account or Google checkout account to receive compensation.

Visit the website for a ton of information on exactly what they are looking for, payment details, etc. Also, please note they don't pay for every submission, only the ones they publish. But, if you're a good writer, this shouldn't be much of a problem. This looks like a really nice opportunity. I'd take it on myself if my workload wasn't overflowing right now. If I decide to submit in the future, I'll update with more information. Good luck!

Hi, Sandra! Thanks so much for posting the link. This is an old post and I guess I just overlooked it in the early days of the blog. Sorry about that, and thanks again!

This is a pretty good site to write for, but the editor is strict about what she considers a $25 article and a $15 article.

Before you can submit an article, they want you to send in a W-8 (international writers) or a W-9 (US writers)tax form. You can fax or mail it in. The 1-866 fax number on their site doesn't work, and they're supposed to change the number.

If they haven't yet, just send in your first article. You'll get an email from the admin saying they can't submit your article without a tax form on file. This is where you confirm with them the correct fax number.

Once they have your tax form on file, you can begin writing. I was bold enough to try to submit for a $25 article which the editor considered as a $15 article. But the good thing is the editor will give you notes about what's wrong and will advise you how to re-submit.

You submit each article in the same place you submit the very first one. The editor will send in her notes by the next day. If your article has been accepted, you'll get an email saying "accepted" and the amount it was accepted for.

The communication between you, the editor and the admin are very clear and constant. Every question I've asked has been answered in a timely fashion. As long as your articles are money or finance-themed, you'll be fine. Check out some of the articles on the website. You'll be surprised how varied some of the subjects are with just a hint of a money or finance theme in them.
